Greek soccer league plays for Sunday

What a beautiful weather! No sign Christmas is round the corner. The Mrs. wants me to go out shopping and I want to stay glued to my PC and TV to watch football, horse racing, basketball and NFL. Any lines on who is going to win.

Olympiakos v. PAOK Salonica Over 2.5 @ 1.83

Greece – Super League Monday Night game

The most important game of the weekend in Greek Super League is taking place tonight (19:30 CET kick off).

Panathinaikos, off from an embarassing midweek defeat from Maribor at Slovenia,  is facing Atromitos who are 2-1-0 so far in the season and have yet to concede a goal.

As if the game wasn’t difficult enough for Panathinaikos, who have been awful lately and can not score to save their lives,  they will have to play it in a neutral field, due to the fact that the Olympic Stadium is hosting a concert!

Despite all the above,  Panathinaikos is considered the favorite by the books, apparently because of their need to win this one as well as the fact that, well, they are Panathinaikos.

At my own risk, I decided not to be convinced by the aforementioned ‘reasoning’ and go with the much better team at the time being.

Atromitos +0.25 @ 2.03 is the play. Good luck.

 

Greece – Super League Soccer plays for Saturday

What a lovely September Saturday!  Soccer, football, a TV and a PC. What more can a man ask from life, right? Right.

Here’s what I like from a not so great  Greek Super League soccer card:

16:15 CET

Asteras Tripolis v. Platanias Over 2  +100   FT 2-1  WIN

Levadeiakos  v. Panionios Over 2 +101   FT  3-0 WIN

I know that betting overs in Greek Super League is asking for trouble but these four teams can all score at least once.

18:30 CET

Xanthi v. PAOK pk @ +103 FT 0-3 WIN

Home team in bad shape. Short away trip for a better PAOK team.

Greece – Super League soccer plays

Real soccer returns today and I’ll spend the whole day on the couch watching it along with college football later on.

The Greek Super League resumes with three interesting games. Here’s what I like:

16:15 CET kick off:

Levadeiakos -0.5 @ 2.00 v. Veria

You may not see in the standings but teams are going into different directions.

Panthrakikos v. Panathinaikos -0.5 @ 1.73

Visitors can not afford to slip against newly-promoted home team.

18:30 CET

PAS Giannina v. Olympiacos Over 2.25 @ 2.02

Home team can score against shaky Olympiacos’ defense.

Soccer Greek Super League pick for Monday

I’m now back from my much-needed summer vacations.

The only reason I’m glad for is that I’ll be able to study games, watch them on tv and of course ‘invest’ on them.

Went 2-2, -0.12 unit on my Saturday college football plays, which is not good but not that bad considering the limited time I had to examine the card. I actually feel bad only for my FIU play which was kind of a ‘wise-guy”s one and it hurt me.

I’m now looking forward to the new week; to start off,  I like the  ‘Monday Night Soccer’ game from the Greek Super League (19:30 Central European Time Kick-off).

Fresh off their exits from European competition, Atromitos hosts PAOK  Salonica in Athens.

Although neither team managed to qualify in the group stage of Europa League,  Atromitos looked in much better shape in their two games against a superior opponent like Newcastle.  On the other hand, PAOK is being tarnished with problems on and off the field and will also have key absentees in tonight’s games.

The last 5 seasons, the match has ended in a draw.

I expect a slow tempo game with the home team to get the W in the end.
